Speech and Language Therapy
Triad Speech Therapy offers a FREE 20 minute screening in order to help determine whether further evaluation is necessary.
A Speech-Language evaluation is an opportunity to gain a full picture of the client via the use a variety of standardized assessments, clinical observations, and parent/guardian report(s)
Every evaluation includes a no-charge face-to-face parent conference with the therapist to review the assessment results and answer questions.
Speech sounds and syllables are modeled, often during play activities. The level of play is age-appropriate and related to the child’s specific needs.
The SLP uses a variety of oral exercises — including facial massage and various tongue, lip, and jaw exercises — to strengthen the muscles for speech.
Language is structured and elicited through playing, talking, and/or using pictures, books, objects, or events to encourage language development.
Fluency is also termed stuttering, in which the flow of speech is interrupted by abnormal stoppages, repetitions, or prolonged sounds and syllables. Fluency therapy is a dynamic process using various strategies to minimize events of dysfluency
Voice therapy addresses problems with the pitch, volume, or quality of the voice that distract listeners from what’s being said. These types of disorders may also cause pain or discomfort for a client when speaking
Dysphagia/Oral Feeding Therapy
Treatment to address difficulties with drooling, eating, and swallowing as well as texture and/or temperature aversion

An Outstanding Professional Speech Pathologist
“At first I wasn’t sure what to expect from Ms. Kean. Our child was just recently diagnosed with ASD and needed an SLP to help strengthen her communication skills. Ms. Kean explained in great detail what we needed to do as a team to ensure my child had the foundational skills that would prepare her to successfully communicate with the ever changing world. From day one Ms. Kean has been Dedicated, Proficient, Dependable, Passionate and Loving to my child. She took a three-tier approach that helped our child excel in all levels of communication. If you want an outstanding professional SLP to help your love one(s) achieve their goals, you’re in the right place.”

I was Impressed
“I have known Ms. Kean for many years; I was one of her Clinical Supervisors while she was completing her Master’s degree. At that time, I was impressed with her perseverance and her dedication to her academic work. She has a never-ending supply of enthusiasm for learning as our profession grows and changes. Since then, I have been fortunate to know Ms. Kean as a colleague. I continue to be inspired by her ceaseless excitement for her chosen career and the patients/clients with whom she works. She has a talent for helping others, whether it be with the smallest change in sound or a life-altering improvement in a person’s ability to communicate. She is knowledgeable, dedicated, supportive, and adept at guiding clients and families. I have seen her handle situations that arise, as they usually do in our line of work, with grace, dignity, and fairness- all while keeping the well-being of her patient/clients first. Further, knowing her on a personal level, I feel blessed to know Ms. Kean as someone who is there for me as a colleague, and beyond as a friend. ”
